 FAQs

  • Every new grooming hire is required to be trained by a Certified Trainer ("CT"). Every CT is required to be trained by our Support Team in Kansas City. It's imperative that we have consistency from shop to shop, so every CT needs to receive the same training in order to consistently educate our processes and techniques. We take this training stuff pretty seriously. Why? Because insufficient and/or inadequate training will quickly diminish your service quality and customer experience. After all, getting a great haircut, shave, etc. is the minimum requirement for every S&S visit.

  • To become an official S&S CT, you need the fancy certificate. To get the fancy certificate, you need to complete our Certified Training Program (see dates above). We currently offer one Certified Training class per quarter, four per year, and accept six trainees per class. Registration is first come first serve so if you have a candidate, don’t wait to sign up.

  • While it is not a requirement, we do strongly suggest the stylists/barbers have achieved a metric goal of level II or higher before signing up to become an S&S Certified Trainer. This benchmark shows their ability to not only provide a quality service (shown in the retention and repeat client metrics) but also their own accountability and determination to set and achieve goals (typically shown through an increase in pre-booked appointments and product sales). Having a strong understanding of what it is like to be a stylist/barber from level I to level II also gives a CT first-hand experience of the potential obstacles a new trainee may encounter through their S&S journey and how to overcome them.

  • There is a $125 fee to become a certified trainer collected at the time of registration. This fee covers lunches, mannequin heads and training print materials. The trainees franchisee is responsible for the $125 fee, travel and lodging costs associated with the trip as well as compensating the trainee for their time spent at the training.
